Mgmt. Mtg. Yerevan, Part 3: Time for some history

After so many hours immersed in all things project management and high-tech entrepreneurship, it was time for a different perspective. We rounded out the trip with an off-hours visit to one of the most important collections of human history in the world, the Matenadaran Museum and Research Institute. This remarkable institution houses a vast collection of written manuscripts and documents dating from ancient times and sourced from throughout the world, on topics ranging from philosophy and religion to medicine and cosmology. Seeing these fascinating and breathtakingly beautiful books and relics, we were reminded of how our universal imagination and thirst for knowledge has driven humanity forward. The museum provided us with a necessary historical context for Armenia and the role its people and culture have played in advancing civilization. Indeed, to understand a nation’s present and imagine its future, one must first have a perspective on its past. Knowing where we come from allows us to imagine where we might go, and how to build the means to get us there…
