Amenia is fast emerging as a force to be reckoned with in high technology – with many notable and successful ICT startups and scaleups headquartered in Yerevan and beyond. In addition to our project meetings, the days were filled out with some up-close evidence of Armenia’s exciting entrepreneurial ecosystem, including a tour and corporate presentation of high-tech scale-up #Digitain, a visit to the Green AgriTech Incubator at ”Nation in Action,” and a presentation from the Union of ICT employers UEICT, the driving force behind Armenia’s famous tech conference Silicon Mountains. We also had the chance to journey to Vanadzor, where we heard from NGO YCCD, and visited the super-modern Vanadzor Technology Center. Hosted by partner VSU, this trip was a real eye-opener to what is happening to advance technology, education and entrepreneurship in an area far from the capital city of Yerevan!
